PRIVACY POLICY
1. Who processes your data
The controller of your personal data is Dr. Jan Sojka, place of business and delivery address Zahradní 15, 783 35 Horka nad Moravou, Czech Republic, company registration number 73162086, VAT number CZ7608195408 (the „publisher”).

The publisher is not required to appoint a data protection officer and has not appointed one.
Processing is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and by Czech Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on personal data processing.
2. What data we process and why
Handling your order. Name, delivery and billing address, e-mail, telephone, order number, order contents, method of payment and, where applicable, company name and registration number. Legal basis: performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Retention: for the duration of the contract and thereafter for the limitation periods.
Accounting and tax. Billing data and payment records. Legal basis: legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Retention: for the period required by accounting and tax legislation.
Commercial communications to customers. Name, e-mail and record of a previous purchase. Legal basis: legitimate interest in direct marketing of our own similar goods, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention: until you opt out.
Newsletter based on sign-up. Name and e-mail. Legal basis: consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Retention: until consent is withdrawn.
Security and operation of the website and shop. IP address and technical information about the browser. Legal basis: legitimate interest in security, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention: a few months.
Establishing, exercising and defending legal claims. The data above to the extent necessary. Legal basis: legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention: for the limitation periods.
Providing data for the purpose of handling an order is necessary; without it the order cannot be fulfilled. Providing data for the newsletter is voluntary.
3. Where the data come from
We obtain the data from you, when you place an order, sign up for the newsletter, complete a form on the website, or order by e-mail or telephone.
The publisher does not buy or otherwise obtain personal data from third parties and does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling.
4. Who we share the data with
We share data only to the extent necessary for the purposes above, with the following categories of recipients:
- Postal and courier services worldwide that deliver the parcel. Name, address and, where required, telephone number are shared.
- Payment service providers that process card payments (Stripe), PayPal payments and bank transfers.
- The provider of our e-mail sending tool (boldem.cz), if we send you commercial communications.
- The provider of a spreadsheet service (Google), to which order data are written from the shop for order handling and dispatch.
- The provider of web hosting and technical support.
- Our accountant and tax adviser.
- Public authorities, where they have a legal power to require it.
A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with each processor, or processing takes place on the terms of the service concerned.
Because we ship worldwide, delivery data are transferred to postal and customs authorities in the country of destination, which may be outside the European Economic Area. Such a transfer is necessary for the performance of the contract with you (Article 49(1)(b) GDPR). Where our service providers transfer data outside the European Economic Area, they apply appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR.
5. Cookies and traffic measurement
The website does not use Google Analytics, the Facebook Pixel or any other third-party tool that would track visitors using cookies. Traffic is measured by a tool running directly on the publisher’s website, which stores no tracking files in your browser.
Only technical files necessary for the operation of the site are used, in particular to keep the contents of the shopping basket and to log in to a user account. These do not require consent.
6. Your rights
In relation to your personal data you have the right:
- of access to the data and to a copy of it (the first copy is free of charge),
- to rectification of inaccurate data and completion of incomplete data,
- to erasure under the conditions of Article 17 GDPR,
- to restriction of processing under the conditions of Article 18 GDPR,
- to data portability for data you provided to us, under the conditions of Article 20 GDPR,
- to object to processing based on legitimate interest; if you object to processing for direct marketing, we will stop processing your data for that purpose,
- to withdraw consent where processing was based on consent; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand,
- to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Office for Personal Data Protection, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic, uoou.gov.cz. You may also contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence within the European Union.
You can exercise these rights at info@psittaculture.eu or by letter to the publisher’s address. We will respond without undue delay and no later than one month after receiving your request; in justified cases this period may be extended by a further two months, of which we will inform you.
You can unsubscribe from commercial communications at any time using the link in every e-mail or by writing to info@psittaculture.eu.
7. Security
The publisher has adopted technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, in particular secure data transfer, access limited to the necessary group of people and regular backups.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be amended. The current version is always available on the publisher’s website.
Effective from 28 August 2026.
