The Arové book (Book of Aros) is the first edition of Tony Silva’s specially prepared for our Czech readers to be a unique publication, which has so far been a mistake with its quality content and the depth of information on our market
The author of the book is not only a longtime breeder, with both his practical and theoretical experience of arassian breeding, but also a man who, as a field ornithologist, visited and explored the habitats in which the Auras live or live. And it is this fact that makes Tony Silva’s book so different from “classical” books dealing with a similar theme, because, above all, information about natural nutrition and behavior is always considered indispensable in breeding. His fieldwork included, for example, the comparison of the weight of naturally bred pups of locally occurring species in Argentina with their captive counterparts.
When we look at the author of the publication with the eyes of the breeder, the utterly telling is the fact that, besides the arches of Lear and the turquoise ares, he managed to rearing all kinds of ares. Tony Silva, during his kennel career, and during his tenure as a curator at Loro Parque in Tenerife, had 82% of all the parrot species, most of which he also managed to rearing.
He has visited the Czech Republic and Slovakia many times and has attended several seminars where he presented his extensive breeding experience and has a strong personal bond to our region. This interplay of circumstances resulted in the publication of the Aros book, which has its world premiere in the Czech language. Fixed binding, page number 240. A4 format. Czech language only.
